Dental
The term dental refers to anything to do with teeth. This is an all encompassing term which can include dentists, products, types of treatment and relevant organisations.
Dental health is an important aspect of a person's wellbeing and as such, requires the same attention in much the same way as any other physical/mental characteristic. Maintaining a good standard of dental health has a direct impact upon other areas of health, not least that of cardiac health. Poor dental health such as gum disease, can lead to coronary artery disease as a result of bacteria from the infected gums entering the bloodstream and so causing clots in the blood vessels of the heart.
Various steps can be taken to ensure good dental health. These include cutting down on the amount of sugary drinks and snacks ingested in a day. And, remembering to brush the teeth after every meal and last thing at night. Plus, flossing the teeth in order to remove foot deposits will prevent the build up of plaque a major contributor to dental problems.
Visiting a dentist for regular check ups is also recommended as this can help to identify any potential problems at an early stage. Not doing this can result in longer term problems which may require lengthy and often expensive treatment.
